Power of words.
—
Do you know what is the prime difference between animals and humans? It’s the ability to speak, read and write WORDS. The words we speak have tremendous power and effect. It depends upon how we use it. Strong words used in a positive manner can make a vast difference in somebody’s life. And sometimes strong words used for negative purpose can create anger and what not. That is why it is said….
Sticks and stones break the bones,
But words often break the relationship.
In the motivation series run by SpeakBindas and Jagdeesh Padnani, this is the third video. First two are on Anger Management and Break the Negativity.
Example of Power of Words is explained through a story of a street beggar.
Once there was a blind beggar, begging on a street with a singboard with words “I’m blind, please give me something…“. He didn’t use to get much money. Once a creative person was passing by there enroute to his work. He saw this board. He observed it. And he turned the signboard and wrote new words. Then he went by.
Reading this new words on the back of signboard, more and more people started donating money to this beggar. By the evening, his pot was full of coins. He was surprised by this. He of course knew that a person did write something on his signboard but he didn’t know what it was.
When in the evening, that person was coming back from work, stopped at this beggar. Beggar knew that he was the same person so he asked him “What is it that you wrote on my signboard in the morning?”
He said “I said the same thing that you had written earlier but used different words.” I wrote “This world is so beautiful, but unfortunately I can’t see it. will you help me?”
A little change in the words created such great impact on people’s mind. Hence, whatever the words we use, if we understand their power and use it rightly, we too can make such a difference. No doubt about that.
What do you say?
I would like to share my experience here:
Many more yrs back, I was caught for traffic case, for not observing traffic rules ! on my presentation in Court, I Humbly wished ‘GOOD MORNING’ and then tried to explain my true difficulty in not observing traffic rules. i was much amazed that, the Hon. Judge Saheb did consider my words and fined very nominal.
This experience of “power of words” I will be remember for eternity.
