I was out of Rajkot at Sasan Gir which falls around 2.5 hours drive from Rajkot. I received an SMS from Dinesh Tilva inviting me to attend an evening meet cum get-to-gether which he had organized for Murtaza Patel who had come from Cairo, Egypt. At this juncture I had no idea of who he is. But Dinesh Tilva insisted me on making it possible to attend the meeting even if I reach back Rajkot late. I reached Rajkot around 06:30. Meeting was scheduled for 06:30 to 08:00pm. Quickly changing & getting freshen-up I rushed to the venue. I also received a call from Priyadarshi Arth who had reached there in-time. Also Dineshbhai called me again to confirm if I’m coming.
I reached to the venue and found the meeting to be very formal. It was organized with a sense to gather all fans & friends of Murtaza Patel, so that they can meet him.
But who is Murtaza Patel? Well, he is known as Marketing Guru. He believes that ‘marketing’ runs in his blood! He is a consultant who helps others to develop their business & do its marketing. He conducts seminars for the same and also does one-to-one consultancy. Basically, he is from Ahmedabad and now lives in Cairo, Egypt.
Most of the invitees were aware about him. I wasn’t. As I reached the venue, I was introduced to him. Surprisingly, he knew about me due to this blog – SpeakBindas.com. He mentioned of having watched some of the interviews on this blog. So it was an instant connection with him. He seemed very generous and down-to-earth persona. I couldn’t find the weight of his popularity on his shoulders! We did chat for a while, as some invitees were yet to come.
It was a formal get-to-gether. Moreover, Dinesh Tilva had invited friends from facebook. Some of he knew even before facebook but most were through facebook only. So it was unique meet in-terms of facebook friends from Rajkot were meeting each other in real too. Even I was connected through facebook with some of the invitees present over-there whom I had never met in person. So it was an interesting initiative by Mr Tilva.
Meet started with personal introduction. We all had set in round-table format, on chairs. So one by one introduced ownself, and it ended with Murtaza Patel’s introduction. He said, he is fond of reading like anything. He also started writing after his wife taunted him on whether he will just keep reading or write too? He gave an intense talk on the subject of “Job or own business?”. Actually, Prof. Jayesh Vachhani had raised this question. Murtaza Patel himself has left job & started his own profession following his inner passion of marketing.
It was a joyous get-to-gether which ended sweetly with a cup of ice-cream.
