The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani has released BITSAT application form for admissions to different degree programmes at Goa campus, Pilani campus, and Hyderabad Campus for the academic year 2019-20. Candidates can apply for BITSAT 2019 before March 20 at the official website.
Degree Programmes Offered at Different Campuses
All the three campuses i.e. Pilani campus, K.K. Birla Goa Campus, Hyderabad campus offers B.E. course in number of specialisations. The specialisation are Chemical, Electrical and Electronics, Computer Science, Civil, Electronics & Instrumentation, Manufacturing, Mechanical.
The institute also offers M.Sc. in specialisations such as Biological Sciences, General Studies, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, and M.Sc.
Eligibility Criteria
An applicant should have passed the 12th examination from a recognized state or central board or its equivalent and should have passed in subjects like Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry to be eligible for above mentioned programmes.
Coming to the percentage, it’s important for applicants that they must have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or a minimum 60% when it comes to the case of biology.
Direct Admission to Toppers: Students who have ranked first of all the central and state boards in India for the year 2019 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, regardless of their BITSAT-2019 score subject to the eligibility criteria prescribed.
Application Form
Students need to submit their BITSAT application form online at the website http://www.bitsadmission.com, latest by 5 pm on March 20. For males, the application fee will be Rs.3150/- and Rs.2650 for females. At the website, you can check the details for payment of fees. Applicants may take the printout of the filled-in form for further process.
During 22nd to 25th March 2019, revision/editing (online) in the application form can be done by candidates. The allotment of test center will be announced to candidates. During 28th March to 8th April 2019, candidates will be required to reserve test date and slot. Candidates are allowed to download the hall tickets between 12th April and 13th May 2019 and can attend the examination on the prescribed date.
BITSAT-2019 Examination Details & Syllabus
BITSAT examination will be of 3-hour duration. There will be 150 total questions. Talking about the exam pattern, the number of questions will be 45 from Mathematics/Biology; 40 each from Physics and Chemistry; 15 from English Proficiency and 10 from Logical Reasoning. And the questions will be on the basis of NCERT syllabus for 11th and 12th classes. Each question will have four options and for each correct answer candidate will get 3 marks. There will be negative marking, one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Once you’re done with the test, the candidate can check his/her score report on the next day of the test date. The candidate can also take a printout of the score for further usage.
