6 Top Indian Websites from Alexa List of Top 500 Sites in India

Alexa.com is a Web Information Company which provides the list of Top sites from all over the world – country wise, as well globally. It also provides with specific numbering of each website with details such as top keywords for that site, backlinks to it, world-wide rank etc.

I was going through the list of Top Sites in India, which provides the top 500 sites in India, and found these interesting 6 websites that I had not visited earlier.

1. http://www.hinkhoj.com/

Info: It’s a Hindi version of Google search engine. So to say, you can put your search query of Hindi Language at this site, and it will provide you with the related results from web. It also has the auto-type pad in Hindi language which makes it easy to type the word in Hindi. You can also find a director of Hindi websites in categorized format.

2. http://www.careesma.in/

Info: This is just another job portal, but adding this in the list as I had never come across it earlier. I also liked its easy to use “search” option to search for jobs. The domain name is quite catchy too, as it’s actually made of English word ‘career’ but its pronunciation turns out to be a Hindi word.

3. http://shabdkosh.com/

Info: It’s a English to Hindi online dictionary. It also has a category for “quotes”. It seems to have a good collection of dictionary words. I gave the word “Romance” into the translation box and it came up with seven results as: अतिशयोक्तिपूर्ण कथा सुनाना, रोमांचक कहानी सुनाना, प्रेम-संबंध होना, कल्पित-कथा, कहानी, अफ़साना, & प्रेमकथा. The last word in the result seemed to be somewhat near to the word “Romance”.

Info: Now a days, there are around ten websites in India which are popular as online shopping sites. This website deals with discounts and coupons you can avail for your online shopping in India. Site is worth a visit if you’re buying something online.

Info: This websites tags itself as ‘the world’s largest web development site’ for it provides online education on topics like HTML, Javascript, PHP, ASP.Net, JQuery, SQL, XSLT, Xpath etc. The format of online tutorials are very user friendly.

Info: Pinterest is a pinboard-style photo sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests, hobbies, and more. Users can browse other pinboards for inspiration, ‘re-pin’ images to their own pinboards, or ‘like’ photos. (ref.: wiki)
