Interview
Q: Welcome to Speakbindas. Tell us since when blogging has been a part of your life? Was there any motive or inspiration as a backbone of it?
Ans.: To be exact, I started to be sincerely blogging from Sep 29, 2009. Though I made some initial blogging with blogspot, a post on MakeUseOf.com made me to get into wordpress. I started in free domain and free hosting as http://www.practiseseo.co.cc/ which gave some tips on SEO. Then, since I decided to blog on a wide niche and also to get my own brandable domain, I started with http://www.novicebloggers.com/ which by the name itself refers, Blogging for beginners and newbies. I love learning much and I wish my everyday should have something learnt everyday. I felt blogs are a great place for sharing by ourselves and learning from others.
Q: What is your blog all about? Which topics you cover there? Is that you alone running/maintaining the blog, or have a team?
Ans.: As mentioned above, its all for beginners. Because we are beginners in this and we just share what we see, learn and face in this blogosphere. The blog covers most of the Internet Technologies. But we particularly concentrate on Blogging tips, tutorials, wordpress tuts, SEO and Internet Marketing, tips for webmasters, and some latest news in other technologies like social networks. When considering the authors, currently me and my friend, Deepika are writing in my blog and we are looking forward for hiring authors too. Contact me to know about it and our blog also has option of guest posts.
Q.: How important is it for the blogger to interact with their readers? Do you respond to all the comments that you receive?
Ans.: Well, we are blogging for our readers and readers alone. We leave the comments section open for them and hear their opinions. I have even made a two part series on how to get more comments at your blog, in which I have mentioned that responding to our comments is one of the primary thing. I take my time to respond the comments and I am sure that I have responded to 90 p.c of the comments here.
Q: What are the present statistics for your blog, i.e. number of daily visitors, visitors geographical status etc.?
Analytics shows that I get 100 average visitors daily 40 of which are returning and yielding 300+ pageviews. The Alexa gave me a rank of 140, 000 which I would like to make 100000 by the end of January and there are about 800 comments now which means it will reach the 1K comments mark soon in a month or two.
Q: Is blogging for you just a passion or a medium for earning too? Does it help you to earn enough cash to quit a 9 to 5 day job?
Ans.: Well, this must be the question in part of all the interview with bloggers. Needless to say, for me Blogging is definitely is for passion. Not only blogging, I do whatever I do with passion and Interest and money should not be the concern at anytime. But, we can always have blogs for earning money too. That doesn’t mean we should blog for money. Write blogs to express yourselves, and money will start flowing automatically
Q: Who are your favorite bloggers, whom you read frequently?
Ans.: I cant mention particularly but in every blogger I interact with I learn something. Some teach me the way to interact with readers, some teach me business in blogging and some teach me how to think bloggitively. The list is a big one. Though, I can mention some of those who inspired me much. They are successful bloggers at very young age. This list can include, Gloson, Typhoon of SmartBloggerz, Pradheep of HellboundBloggers, and Simon of Teenius.com.
Q: From the secret bucket of your blogging experiences, what tips you would like to share with the fellow bloggers?
Ans.: Be committed to blogging and be patient, you can definitely will succeed in blogging.
Q: Do you believe that blogging completes you? If yes, tell us how?
Ans.: No, blogging alone cant complete me. There are lot of things to do in this life. Blogging is a part of my journey where now I show some commitment and making myself better.
Q: How has blogging helped you other than money?
Ans.: It got me many friends, gave me a online presence. Blogging and Internet are great ways for reaching many people and get yourself known rather than being a person who’s name is not known to people even in neighborhood.
Q: What would be the one thing you’d change about yourself?
Ans.: May be self management or managing myself with time. I need proper planning to do it. And I can see I am improving in it for the past few months.
Q: What will you do without internet?
Ans.: May be going through my video tutorials and coding for a program. Rarely I watch movies in computer.
Q: If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
Ans.: Mr. A.R.Rahman, the greatest music director in India. I am passionate on music and he might be the one of the reason for it. I wish I should see him and interact with him a lots on music.
Q: How much money do you have in your purse/wallet right now (including change)?
Ans.: 456 INR.
Q: What’s your take on the technological advancement these days? Does it make people’s life simple or complicated?
Ans.: Technology makes people’s life simple but not all people’s. There is a dialogue in a movie, “Rich gets richer and Poor get poorer” Technology is reaching only one part of world and there are even some regions where people dont have electricity.
Q: What do you think of “blogging is the next BIG thing”?
Ans.: It depends. Its hot now and its smart to make the hay while sun shines. I feel that technologies and trends vary often. For now, it has a good stand in Internet and it may vary if some completely opposite and effective technology comes in.
Q: Any special message you would like to share with your blog readers as well with everyone else?
Ans.: Be sincere , committed and patient, and give your best in everything you do. Even the darkest of day, will turn brighter for you. All the best and don’t forget to visit my blog http://www.novicebloggers.com/ often.
